We have officially started construction on Skybookings 2.0. This is a huge task and the beginning of a giant leap into the future.
Thank you for having faith in the first version of skybookings, and sharing invaluable insights. There is absolutely, no way we would be here without you. But it’s time to take another leap. So, here’s where we are headed.
How we will serve
The Platform
- Offline Smart Tickets: We are introducing offline tickets. This will allow you to order a batch of physical tickets to sell in your area. What is special about them? The tickets will only become active after scanning them. In other words, when you sell a physical ticket, you will scan it into action. This will prevent fraud and counterfeiting. But also, this will allow skybookings to create a network of printers (especially in our townships) to print and deliver tickets to you.
- Affiliations: Skybookings 2.0 will allow influencers to register as affiliates. When they spot an event they wish to promote, they will be able to generate a special link and a portion of the sales they generate will go to them. This also means you can use your network to sell tickets on your behalf, and skybookings will handle all the commission splits.
- Secondary Market: Skybookings will also have a marketplace where people can buy a batch of tickets and re-sell them. This will be excellent for popular events that are bound to sell out quickly. Skybookings will handle all the ticket transfers, and every time someone buys a ticket, a small royalty will be allocated to your account.
- Part Payments & Invoicing: This is our most requested add-on. When selling tickets to businesses, invoicing and administration become imperative. But also, some events such as travel, retreats or expos require part payments. Skybookings will have a basic invoicing tool that handles part payments. The tool will also allow people to pay manually or set their credit card to automatically pay over a certain number of weeks or months. We are very excited about this add-on and hope it will make life easier.
- Calendars: If you have a venue with several recurring events, or you might be an artist that people can book. Skybookings will offer a seamless platform to manage multiple calendars, do invoicing and recons, and facilitate various payment methods seamlessly.
Services
- Managed Services: We realised that there is good demand for evangelists who hate the admin. We have clients who insist that we use skybookings on their behalf. For this, we will grow a network of partners who will provide a fully managed service, using Skybookings as their primary tool.
- Financial Services: We are also working with several partners to offer insurance and lending services to our evangelists. You will be covered in case it rains, there’s a national shutdown or an artist pulls out. We will also look at your track record and automatically allocate a fund that you can draw down from to organise your next event. Likewise, skybookings will make all this happen seamlessly.
- Promoter Services: The changes to the platform are geared toward enabling deeper collaboration with promoters (in the form of affiliates or influencers) to help sell out events faster. Skybookings will provide a platform to allow transactions to happen seamlessly
Skybookings 2.0
As you can see, this is a giant leap from where we are and it warrants developing our platform from the ground up. Skybookings 2.0 aims to create an ecosystem that enables evangelists to grow and lead their tribe while harnessing a network of partners.
Of course, tools like GPT and A.I will be built into the next version of skybookings. It will be insanely great.
